Hi, I’m STH.

I was raised to be a good girl: don’t speak up, don’t make trouble, don’t ask for anything, don’t have your own opinions, don’t do anything other than what you know to be safe and familiar.

As an adult, I’ve learned—and I’m still learning!–to find my voice, figure out what I think about things, and speak up about it.

That’s what this blog is about, all the things I’m interested in, which include cooking, crafts, living frugally and simply, politics, exercise, atheism, feminism, travel, and cats.

I would LOVE to hear what you have to say about all these things, so please comment if you would like to (or send me an e-mail at livingincolorblog (at) outlook (dot) com). I am not offended by the fact that many people disagree with me about things! However, if you are here to spread around abuse, especially of the sexist, racist, or homophobic variety, your comment will be deleted and you will be banned. If you are here to tell me that you’ll pray for me, please take your prayers elsewhere. If you are here to tell me that I really shouldn’t swear so much, I cordially invite you to fuck off.

  1. Hi STH! Your ‘About’ made me laugh. I will most certainly not be praying for you to reduce your swearing. Rather the opposite, I suspect.

  2. Hi! I’ve nominated you for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award 🙂 My post has all the details… http://threadsandbobbins.com/2015/06/12/very-inspiring-blogger-award/#more-1495 Congratulations!

  3. Hi STH, the first paragraph of your “About” sounds exactly like me! I can so relate 🙂 I’m starting to find my own voice as well. I LOVE your sense of humor and I don’t mind the swearing either…I drop quite a few f-bombs myself!!

  4. I.Love.This. I am the same and agree wholeheartedly with your last paragraph.

    • I’m so happy you’re here, lozzen! I think there are way too many women that have been too quiet for way too long, and it’s time that we spoke up. Maybe, just maybe, it’s time to be a little less polite and a little more US!

  5. Exactly! Me too!

    • Ha! I know what you mean–I had two conversations this past weekend about how all the new tech is leaving people like us behind! If you’re on any page of my blog, scroll up toward the top and a little box should appear on the bottom right of your screen that says “follow.” Then just click on that. At least that’s how it works for me.
